Scientific Leader: Metabolomics Unit (m/f/d)

(E13 TV-G-U)

Available from March 2025, initially for a period of two years. The pay scale is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement applicable to Goethe University (TV-G-U).

The position requires the following:

  • expertise in chromatography (LC and GC), mass spectrometry and the field of metabolomics
  • establishment of untargeted metabolomic profiling (mass spectrometry)
  • experience in method development and troubleshooting of LC-MS and/or GC-MS hard- and software.
  • collection of experimental data, analysis and documentation of the results and preparation of the material for publication
  • participation in research projects focusing on metabolism
  • participation in interdisciplinary research with scientists from different laboratories
  • knowledge in flux and fate analyses or lipidomics is an advantage

Requirements:

  • a completed, very good doctoral degree in biochemistry, biology, biotechnology, molecular medicine or an equivalent discipline
  • experience in LC-MS/MS and/or GC-MS analyses
  • experience in project coordination and lab management as well as good self-organization and team working abilities
  • while German is not necessary, excellent written and spoken English is required
